Blueberry Picking

(I didn't dodge Lucia's face, the book's huge, white pages were just reflecting really nice light)

When the world was new

Laying down in a peaceful place and looking at the world upside down is one of my favorite things to do sometimes.

Wedding

Holly got married this weekend. My sister called me half an hour before the wedding to see if I could take some pictures. I only had my film camera so the quality of these wont be the best until I can scan them instead of Walgreens. But here are a few pictures I took.

More from today

So yeah, I have been shooting a lot more since I realized how little I had shot since I got here. What do you think?

Dan and Aniken

This was earlier this morning, I can't decide which one of Dan I like. Input is appreciated. Peace.

More Lucia

This was just about 10 minutes ago. I was playing my flute on the front porch and Dan came, pushing Lucia, to check on the chickens and listen to some music.

Hay Day

Yesterday was crazy. I spent the afternoon riding the back of a hay wagon stacking bales (spelling?) then when a big storm came up we huridly tried to get the wagons secure and back to the barn. It turned out crazy, with one wagon rolling down the hill and all of us throwing hay bales in the rain and getting soaked.

Why for?

So these photos I've been posting are pretty different than what I usually shoot. I was talking to a friend about it and I think it comes from my love for scientific sketches, like the ones you find in encylopedias. So these are my scientific sketches of plants I like.

The Egg Revisited

One of the first assignments many students get at WKU is to photograph an egg. However, I had Mr. Kenney and he did not give that assignment. I decided to revist it though.

But seriously, most people think eggs are all shaped the same and are perfectly white. However, eggs that are layed by healthy chickens that havent been genetically altered are different. I collect eggs every other day on the farm and have gotten to know which chickens are laying which eggs.

Here are a few different kinds of eggs I see.

Roots

I am doing a lot of weeding lately and I love the way plants looks roots and all so I am trying to play around with that. This is a lambs quarter, it is commonly pulled and thrown out as a weed but tastes just like spinach - there is so much of it that it seems silly that people even pay for spinach.
